About Written-off vehicle register

The written-off vehicle register (WOVR) is designed to assist in combating the problem of rebirthed vehicles. Rebirthing is the term used when identities of damaged vehicles are bought at auctions, or elsewhere, and put onto stolen vehicles to give them new identification numbers.

The register allows insurers, auctioneers and dismantlers to access the RTA database, in real-time, to enquire about and add written-off vehicles. It is a legislative requirement that insurers, auctioneers and dismantlers use it.

To access this website you will need a user ID and a password. If you don't have one, you will need to download this form to apply.

For more information on WOVR and using this website please refer to the Assessment and notification of written-off vehicles.
